Hello world!

My senses are often taken for granted as we live in a world where we are constantly bombarded by different stimuli. Be it visual, auditory, gustatory, olfactory, or somatic; these processes are constantly at work to observe, and interpret the most powerful sensations to the slightest. Even without conscious thought about the senses themselves, they labor away to provide a complete interpretation of our surroundings; for our protection, also for our enjoyment. I personally exploit my senses constantly for entertainment. A prime example of this is the use of my visual system, for which I use to enjoy a film, watching sports events, or taking photos. As an audiophile, I abuse my sense of audition as I barrage it with music of different genres and volume levels. Also, as a glutton (a favorite pastime I’m currently partaking in), my sense of taste is exploited for my enjoyment of good food.
Reflecting upon my daily routines, I begin to see everything I do and perceive is a result of sophistication and intricacies of the nervous system and brain. Walking to and from class, reading, or hearing can be lost; sometimes never to be fully recovered. But the full extent of the nervous system’s abilities has not yet been discovered. Though, through diligent study and experimentation some interesting findings have been encountered. Many of which show promise for the future of a scientific field, as well as promise in the field of medicine, as these findings can provide a bright future for patients.
